Celebrating its 12th year, the purpose of the Schauer Youth & Children's Choir (SYCC) is to enrich the lives of young singers through the study of diverse choral music. The Choir is split into two ensembles, based on grade level. Children's Choir is for students in grades K5-3 and is open to anyone who loves to sing. Youth Choir is for students in grades 4-8; no auditions are required, but vocal ability will be assessed at rehearsal.

National Anthem at the Milwaukee Wave Game – SUN, February 16 at 2:00 pm
Spring Music Concert, Schauer Center – SAT, May 10 at 2:00 pm
MON, January 13 to May 5 (no rehearsal April 21)
Children’s Choir, 5:30-6:15pm

Location: Schauer Center, Pike’s Peak
An introductory choir that provides young singers the opportunity to sing in rounds, canons, partner songs, and songs of other cultures. Students will use rhythm instruments and other movement activities to reinforce and develop singing skills. No audition required.

Location: Schauer Center, Rehearsal Hall
Students will learn musical skills such as rhythm, harmony, sight-reading, listening, posture, breath, and tone. Vocal selections are chosen to allow singers to grow year-round focusing on vocal, reading, and part-singing skills. Student’s vocal ability will be assessed at rehearsal. No audition required.
