Ages 8-14 | Enrollment strictly limited to 12 students.
Location: Schauer Arts Center, Pikes Peak
Instructor: Rachel Ojala Dumke
Tuition: $105 (6 classes, includes supplies)
Mon-Tues-Wed June 17-19 & 24-26 5:15 pm - 7:00 pm
Stages come in all shapes and sizes. Enter “the ring” and explore many of the ground skills a circus performer needs to know. Basics of flow and spin (juggling, poi, hoops, spinning plates, and more) and balancing skills (stilts, rolling globe, and rola bola) will be introduced within the first three classes. The last three classes will provide more freedom to hone skills of interest and work in small teams to merge each individual’s strengths into a mini showcase performance! Come stretch the boundaries of what you thought possible in a safe, supportive environment.
Instructions is tailored to meet each students where they are and encourage growth at a safe and comfortable pace. The focus of this mini-session is as much on developing body-awareness, learning to move with confidence, thinking creatively, and working together as a team, as it is on skill development. Students are welcome to bring their own yoga mat for warm-ups, and any circus equipment that they may have, but it is not required.
