Old Befana is a lovely musical based on an ancient holiday story...a recipe for enchantment, its warmth and magic stirs audiences of all ages. This tale puts an illuminating spin on a familiar night of miracles, three Kings, a bright shining star, and a very special child. Singer-songwriter Ken Lonnquist adapted the Yule story in 1987, and has been performing the musical with his troupe every holiday season since. The songs and message are irresistible. Hearing that a special child is coming to make the world a better place, Old Befana begins a search which continues to this day during the holiday season. She doesn’t know whether the child she seeks is rich or poor, black or white, a boy or a girl. “Anyone could be the one to make a better world”, Befana sings. “It might be... you!” Come early for free children's activities 12:30-1:30 pm.
