“Then Sings My Soul”
The Hartford Community Chorus Spring Concert will be in celebration of Ruth Knoll (1936-2023), founder of the Community Chorus and namesake of the Schauer Center theater. The HCC is fulfilling what Ruth, in her March 2008 will, desired from the Chorus as a life celebration. The concert largely celebrates songs that were meaningful to Ruth. Ruth desired the chorus' director to also select music befitting to the occasion. A brief tribute to Ruth Knoll will follow the concert.
The Hartford Community Chorus is under the artistic direction of Mark Weller. He has had vast and various musical and educational experiences. A graduate of UW-Madison, Mark has both bachelor and master degrees in music, two master degrees and doctorate degree in education.
The Hartford Community Chorus is sponsored by the Hartford Recreation Department with additional support from the Schauer Arts Center.
